Secretary needed for The Julian Meetings National Council & Core Group

14 Apr 2018 2:20 PM | Ann Moran (Administrator)

We need a Minutes Secretary for our Core Group and National Council Meetings.  Can you help?

The Minutes Secretary is a very important and interesting role in JM.  Please do contact our Convenor, Sheana Barby if you have any questions or would like to discuss the post.  You can email via the Contacts page here or log in and you can find other contact details on the General Forum.

Minutes Secretary

Role Description

Produce the minutes for the Core Group and National Council meetings.  Core Group meets 3 times a year, February, June, October.  National Council meets once a year in October followed by the Core Group meeting.  The meetings are mid-week and involve an overnight stay, two nights in October.  At present we meet in Derby and Shallowford near Stafford.  All venues are accessible by train.  Expenses are paid.  The Secretary is a member of both meetings and is welcome to contribute to the discussions.

Use of email and word processing software is necessary.  Most major word processing software is acceptable.

The Secretary may also be a signatory to our bank account and therefore two character references will be required.

 Details of the task

1 Take the minutes during the Core and Council meeting.  A verbatim record is not required but the minutes should include:

  • a)      A summary of the discussions.
  • b)      Details of any decisions made and any actions to be taken.

2 Send draft minutes to the Convenor as soon as possible for checking, ideally within 3 weeks of the meeting.

3 Amend minutes as necessary and return to the Convenor for distribution.

Please apply to Sheana Barby

We follow the monastic principle of offering as much content as we can free and charging the smallest amount possible for the rest.  We rely on donations to cover our costs and are very grateful for all donations.  You do not need a paypal account to pay with a card.
